With a breathtaking view of the Detroit skyline, Dieppe Gardens is located at Riverside Drive and Ouellette Avenue, along Windsor’s scenic, downtown waterfront. It’s named from Dieppe, France, where the Essex Scottish Regiment of Windsor was a part of an assault landing on August 19, 1942. The 5,000-man force, which also included other Canadian soldiers as well as British and American armed service personnel, suffered over 3,000 casualties.
